The European Chronicles 2023.9 - The Beach, The Ancients and The Views

From Cardedu to Alghero, with ancient rocks in between

First, some time on the beach.  A short walk from the hotel, and I'm on a pretty empty beach.

Soft sand, blue water, warm.  Very nice.  Quiet, relaxing.

Citroen 2CV, nice beach car!

Later that afternoon, Motogp on Italian TV...fun to listen to the announcers..."Mama Mia!"  And, even though there are commercials, you never miss anything because they split screen it.

The hotel has a couple of very cute free range kitties.  ðŸ˜‚

The next day, I've got a big loop planned to visit Su Nuraxi, a human settlement dating back to the  thirteenth and sixth centuries BC.

Very nice ride, again mostly second and third gear sweepers.

Cinquecento car show!

The Su Nuraxi site itself is a bit meh.  You can only access it by guided tour, 70 euro, and I would have had to wait 45 minutes for the next one.  Nope.  Reminded me of the brochs we saw in Scotland, but significantly larger.

Beautiful mural along the way.  Nice the way the scene is carried right across a window.

Andiamo ad Alghero!

From the southeast to the northwest, a diagonal line across Sardinia.

Hotel Genna e Masoni is a Tourenfahrer affiliated hotel - one of a few affiliations in Europe that cater to Motos.  Seems to work - Ginger's got friends.

Much quieter than the kid's football club!

Sardinian "highway"

NOT the highway.  ðŸ˜‚

This huge herd of sheep popped right out from the side of the road, being led by their shepherd.  Not something you see every day on a relatively busy road.

"Full stop, Mr. Sulu!"

The ride from Bosa to Alghero along the coast is spectacular.  One stunning view after another, jagged cliffs, azure water, fog, twisties; PCH on steroids.

At the west coast beach!  Dude.  ðŸ˜Ž

Ciao!
