The European Chronicles 2025.7 - Kristall Perfection to Achensee
Mistakes are inevitable, but first, perfection.
The Kristall had everything...great hiking out the front door, great access to riding, cute little town, stunning hotel design, great pool and sauna, friendly, helpful staff, a garage for Mia, beautiful room and fantastic, innovative food, among the best we've ever had. It was hard to leave, and I'm certain we'll be back.
Our last day there, we did a beautiful walk along the river.

Always fun to watch someone who knows what they're doing, no matter the task. One graceful motion, from pick up to precision placement. 😎
When finished, the arm folds up and stores itself in a holster at the back of the trailer. One lever and the stabilizer jacks retract and he's ready to go, seconds after he's fully loaded. One man operation.
We came upon a rock climbing training area. Very cool to watch.
The climbing area is adjacent to this beautiful bridge, anchored directly into the rock.
Sadly, time to fetch Mia from the underground garage and head to our next destination: Achensee.
We're crossing back and forth into Germany, including a dead end ride in and out of the Karwendel valley because...stunning.
It's Sunday, so a few towns have parades going on...full period garb required. 😎
Beautiful small roads...perfect pavement, little traffic.
And the occasional covered bridge.
We're not the only ones out enjoying this beautiful day.
We turn south into Naturpark Karwendel Verwaltung, the largest nature park in Austria.
A fun twisty road that leads into a stunning valley.
With, of course, a destination hotel and restaurant.
The ride out of the valley was equally spectacular, then we turn East for Achensee.
Sadly, the Relive app "ended" itself here, and didn't record the rest of the ride. Probably user error... 😂
