The European Chronicles 2025.10 - The Grossglockner Playground - Part One

First, we have to get there.  Loading up at the Wiesenhof...it was a great stay...in Margaritaville...  😎

We're first going over Gerlos Pass...starting the climb...Krisanne as GoPro...not bad, lots of wind noise, might want to turn it down/off...but she does a great job!

(Edit:  Now With Music, instead of the loud wind noise!)

Gerlos, like many scenic pass roads in Austria, has a toll.

Farm to table means there are farms...everywhere, scattered all around.  Tractors on the road are commonplace.

And tunnels...there WILL be tunnels...  😂

Last gas before you get on the Grossglockner...always a bit of a zoo...but also with a little cafe and shaded picnic tables.

A stop at FAT Mankei...sadly, no Porsche in the garage today.

But a very good affogato and raspberry lemonade...with a killer view...

I want one...  😎

Suitably refreshed and caffeinated, we continue South on the Grossglockner to the National Park Lodge in Heiligenblut.
