Rightly so, but now what?

Tried to do some 8,000 foot social distancing this week.  I expected the Kitt Peak Observatory to be closed, but was hoping the road was open.  Sadly, a sign of the times.

Plus, yesterday and today have brought rain, so it is all bad news all the time everywhere you turn.  At least it seems that way.  In an effort to combat that, if only for myself, I'm going to do a bit of a retrospective here...cherry picking some past events for this compilation.  Good times all, with hope of more to come.

We've still got fingers crossed for Europe in August/September.

6 Underground

While surfing, endlessly, around Netflix, I came across the movie 6 Underground.

It is, without question, one of the worst movies EVER.  Could not get past 15 minutes.  But when I started watching it, I immediately realized this was the movie they were filming while we were at the Duomo in Florence last summer!  Honestly, how many movies with lime green Alfas could there be...

Tuscany was such a wonderful trip.

The lady in red...

The street art in Florence...everywhere.

The best gin and tonic ev-ah.  Hendricks, Schweppes, cucumber and...wait for it...fresh ground pepper.

The start of my European wanderlust began in 2005; an Alps tour with my friend Bill.

Back when I still had (some) hair.

A good time...

Took me nine years to get back across the pond, this time with Krisanne to Scotland in 2014.

Also our first taste of the BMW F800GT.  Liked it then, obviously like it even more now!

Retaining her flare for the dramatic.  Or maybe that's just what happens in close rock proximity. 😍

Not universal, apparently.

But I can smile...

Scotland has an interesting approach to rural roads.  All through the Highlands, roads are what they call "single track," i.e., wide enough (barely) for one vehicle, but remaining two-way.  You pass in a "passing place" which is a wider area in the road.  Whoever gets there first pulls over, the other vehicle passes.  Works surprisingly well.

The Bealach na Ba, the road to Applecross, and a passing place (see the little white sign?)

Land's End

We've done some great riding here in the US, more on that later.  I have a feeling this lockdown is going to last for awhile.

Meantime, if you can, please...

...and...

We're all in this together.
