The European Chronicles 2023.1 - Arrival & Shakedown

A Tough Flight & An Easy Ride

A five hour delay at O'Hare for the overnight flight to Frankfurt.  Ugh.

No matter, I'm chill.  ðŸ˜Ž. Flight from Tucson goes off without a hitch.  Seven weeks packed into this:

Two days or 200, the same stuff gets packed.  New hat, though.  ðŸ˜‚. See, chill.  Plus, beaches (and bald).

O'Hare started off nice

Gate is a bit of a zoo, a flight to Tokyo is at the gate and is delayed.  Once that pulls out, boarding goes pretty quickly.  Full flight, every single seat.  No upgrade for me...whaaaa.

But Nooooooo, after we sit for about 45 minutes waiting on a mechanical fix, we disembark.

Let's head to the United Club while we wait for a new plane.  But Nooooooo...

What's the point of getting free passes that can't be used?  Thankfully, there are other options.

Mmmm, Hendricks!  ðŸ˜†. New gate, new plane.  Takes off five hours late, but at least they didn't cancel it.

Despite the seemingly long line, Customs goes very quickly, thru in no time and head to the cleverly named Meeting Point for my ride to Stefan's Moto B&B.

Mia's patiently waiting...change the oil, put her on a charger to top up the battery and tend to a couple of odds and ends.  Install the shorty clutch lever...really like this little mod for 2 finger clutch control.

My last "real" meal was something like a day and a half ago; I head to the Goldenen Rose for dinner, my favorite place a short stroll from Stefan's and across the street from a bank ATM, need some Euro.

Streetcar and art along the way.

A bit chilly, inside is the choice today.

Tagliatelle Bolognese and a great Montepulciano hit the spot.

I was HUNGRY!

Tuesday, is a shakedown run along the river.  Mia's running perfectly and I'm getting over the jet lag.

Relive '23 May 2023'

Wednesday the trip starts for real, working my to Savona, Italy for the overnight ferry to Corsica on Friday.  Until then, chill.  ðŸ˜Ž

Ciao!
