Tunnel or pass? With good weather, always the pass. But today, the Gotthard Tunnel.
Waiting for the ferry to Menaggio, the weather looks like it's rolling in. And roll in it would. Every single time I've "had" to be somewhere on this trip, it has poured.

Shortly after, the weather moved in. Or perhaps I should say I moved into the weather.
Poured most of the way toward Switzerland and I decided to take the Gotthard Tunnel instead of the pass, which still looked socked in and wet. I'd never taken this 17 km long tunnel before, but today it seemed like a good idea.
Dry, obviously. But HOT! Entered the tunnel at 65 degrees F (18 C)...it hit 102 F (39 C) in the tunnel...exited at 65 F again. Crazy!
Headed to the Black Forest, another favorite hotel in Wolfach, the Hotel Waldblick. Great restaurant, nice rooms, garage for Mia.
Now with an e-bike charging station.

Beer o'clock.
On to Stefan's the next day, thru the Black Forest. Some really pleasant riding.

He had a BBQ that night, nice group of folks, mostly from the US this time. CA, CO, MA, WA, TX, NY...some coming, some going.
The new expansion is completely full!
Mia gets an oil change, battery topped up and disconnected, washed, waxed, tagged and bagged.
